Updated, 11:40 a.m. Tuesday: BRIDGEPORT — The Road P Fire between Bridgeport and Grand Coulee Dam is 100 percent contained, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Updated, 8:45 a.m. Tuesday: BRIDGEPORT — All evacuation levels related to the Road P Fire in Douglas County have been cancelled. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports no new growth overnight.
Fire crews will continue to monitor and mop up. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Updated, 8:55 p.m. Monday: BRIDGEPORT — The Road P Fire burning in northeastern Douglas County is estimated at 2,500 acres, says Sheriff Kevin Morris.
One home on Road P closest to the fire was evacuated and three more homes on Road P were issued Level 2 evacuation notices (be set to leave).
Morris said winds have calmed and are about normal for the area and crews have made progress.
"It's looking alright, right now," Morris said. "There's still one real hot spot. They’re workin on it pretty hard."
Douglas County Fire Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4, Okanogan County Fire District 15, Bridgeport Fire, Chelan County Fire Districts 5 and 7, and the Bureau of Land Management are working to fight the fire. Gebber’s Farms is also providing personnel and equipment.
The crews will likely be on the fire all night, Morris said.
Updated, 5:20 p.m. Monday: BRIDGEPORT — Level 2 evacuation notices (be set to leave) have been issued to four residences near a brush fire between Bridgeport and Grand Coulee Dam.
The wind-driven fire is north of Leahy Junction, between Road 24 Northeast and Road L Northeast and Road P Northeast, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
There are no structures threatened at this point and no road closures. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
First report, 4:48 p.m Monday: BRIDGEPORT — Crews are responding to a third-alarm brush fire in the Bridgeport area. It was reported at 2:30 p.m. between Road K Northeast and Road J.
