ROCK ISLAND — A utility pole fire closed both directions of Highway 28 near milepost 5 and briefly left 600 customers along Rock Island Road without power on Friday morning.
A detour is available through Batterman Road, Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said. The highway is expected to partially reopen before noon, he said.
The fire was reported around 9:15 a.m., Bryant said.
Most customers had their power restored just before 11 a.m., Douglas County PUD spokeswoman Meaghan Vibbert said.
