Housing top priority for Leavenworth mayoral candidate

NCW — Voting has started for the Feb. 12 special election, which includes tax proposals to benefit local school and hospital districts.

Friday is the deadline for ballots to be sent out, although residents may have already received theirs.

The Manson School District is proposing two replacement levies: one for educational programs and operations, and another for facility improvements. Cascade Medical Center wants to renew its emergency medical services tax.

Douglas County ballots include levies from the Waterville, Quincy and Ephrata school districts. The Ephrata School District also has a bond proposal for facility renovations and expansions, and safety and security improvements.
