Wildfire smoke pushes air quality into 'very unhealthy' range

The state Department of Ecology posted air quality readings for a Wenatchee Valley College monitor on Fifth Street in Wenatchee.

NCW — Wildfire smoke pushed air quality into the "very unhealthy" and "hazardous" range across North Central Washington Monday.

Air quality was in the very unhealthy range about 8 p.m. Monday in Wenatchee, according to a state department of Ecology monitor at Wenatchee Valley College on Fifth Street.

Ecology recommends everyone stay indoors, do only light activities and keep windows closed during hazardous air quality conditions.
