Wednesday is recognized as the national day of internet, oatmeal, hermits, and, most importantly of all, frisky little feline friends — cats.

National Cat Day is a day to raise awareness about the number of cats in shelters that need to be rescued and to celebrate the cats in our lives. Local cat rescues include Kitty Rescue 2 and the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
