PESHASTIN — A motorcyclist was badly injured in a collision Wednesday on Highway 97.

The motorcyclist and a car collided around 11:30 a.m. in the area of Campbell Road, according to a Washington State Patrol report. The motorcyclist, 29-year-old Seth Peterson of Peshastin, was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital.

He was stabilized and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he's in critical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Troopers say a 2015 Volkswagen Golf failed to yield the right-of-way to the Kawasaki KL650 when it turned onto Highway 97 from Campbell Road and was struck by the motorcycle.

Peterson was ejected from the bike and landed in the roadway, the report said.

The roadway was closed for roughly an hour in both directions at milepost 183 two miles south of the Big Y junction, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Parker Isenman, 20, and passenger Lauren Gilliam, 19, both of Bainbridge Island, were treated for injuries at the scene, the report said.
