An intriguing program is coming to Pybus Public Market on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.

My friend Oori Silberstein from the Methow Valley will be offering a free introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) as part of the Pybus University series of courses.

We live in a high-stress society and finding ways to cope with the inevitable pressures of daily life can be a challenge. Clinical research shows that MBSR reduces worry and helps people live less stressful lives, and MSC helps us navigate difficult periods or experiences with more ease and resilience though effective self-support tools.

Oori trained through the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness and teaches individuals and groups in person and online, including schools, hospitals and non-profits. With a background in Trauma Resiliency, Spiritual Care and Grief Support, his experience includes work at Harborview Medical Center, Room One in the Methow Valley, King County and Hospice. He will be teaching the full 8 week classes in Wenatchee starting in mid-September through Mindfulness Northwest (
