CASHMERE — The sky was clear and bright Saturday morning at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in Cashmere for the 300-or-so people who came to honor the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"Nothing is more important than this today," said Gene Sharratt to the crowd at the start of this year's ceremony. "We've been working on this for a year. We were going to have it last year but because of COVID-19 we did not."
Sharratt is one of eight Spirit of America 9/11 Memorial Foundation board members. Sharratt told the crowd at the start of the ceremony, "thank you very much on this 20th anniversary."
