SUNNYSIDE — It was a beautiful spring day at Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside on Wednesday.
The Eastmont boys shot a collective team score of 314, taking second place after West Valley.
“I was impressed,” Eastmont Head Coach Spencer Ellis said. “It might be our best score since I started coaching.”
Andy Hobson had rebounded from last week to lead Eastmont by shooting a 74. Cal Anderson and Andrew Pope both followed with a 78 each. Lucas Babst scored a personal best of 84. Adrien Ruffins shot a 93 and Noah Wittle followed with a 97.
Wenatchee slid into third with a team score of 333.
"Our team shot well and are excited to keep improving with the weather warming up," Wenatchee Head Coach Dave Jagla said.
Wenatchee’s Jackson Bishop also scored a 74, tying Hobson for second best individual score.
“We’re getting along as a team,” Ellis said. “We’re hoping to continually build our chemistry and break through to beat West Valley.”
The 56th Annual Jack Barnes Memorial Golf Invite at Three Lakes Golf Course will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Wenatchee and Eastmont will attend along with half of the Big Nine and other schools from the region.
