EPHRATA — The Ephrata High School softball team began the district tournament on Saturday with a tough loss to Selah, 13-2. It was Selah’s 12th consecutive win.

Ephrata (16-5), ranked eighth in the state, was on a seven-game winning streak before the loss to Selah (14-8). These two teams were fairly familiar with one another. Of their two previous encounters, Ephrata won both. Selah was ranked 18th.
