SELAH — When you’ve already clinched the league title, maintained an undefeated record and earned the right to host Districts, it could be easy to get complacent.
Not for Wenatchee bowling.
Thursday afternoon the Panthers kept things rolling against Selah, winning 3-1. Wenatchee, as a whole, knocked down 1,815 pins to Selah’s 1,459. The win stretched their record to 12-0 overall.
Last Thursday, the Panthers took the league title, continuing their strong bowling tradition even this year, with a young team, starting two sophomores and a freshman.
“Our future is really bright,” Wenatchee Head Coach Jeremy Anders said. “We’re building with one senior, but we’re really strong.”
Freshman Sophia Johnson rolled a 188, and sophomore Charlene Campbell followed with a 177.
Wenatchee hosts Moses Lake at Eastmont Lanes Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
Wenatchee hosts Districts later that week Friday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m.
“It’s a good advantage to host,” Anders said. “We’re trying not to look too far ahead. We’re taking it one step at a time.”
