Donna Jo Churchill, 80, a longtime resident of Leavenworth, WA, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. She was born on December 2, 1930, to Joseph and Ida (Hayes) Burnham at Fulton, IN. The family moved to Rochester, IN, where Donna received her early education, later attending and graduating from Indiana Academy. She later attended Emanuel Missionary College and on June 11, 1950, she married Roy Clifton Churchill at Berrien Springs, MI. They made their home in Michigan, where she worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Fattic. In 1963, they moved to Oroville, WA; in 1967, to Fairfield, WA; and Moses Lake, WA in 1973. In 1975, they moved to Juneau, AK, where she worked for the Forest Service. In 1979, they moved to Goldendale, WA, where she worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Tupper and in 1985, she came to Leavenworth. While here, she worked in Wenatchee at Dr. Hardin's office. Donna enjoyed gardening, interior decorating and taking care of her husband, Roy. She was a good cook, who enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She loved her family, her grandchildren and she especially loved the Lord.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Churchill of Leavenworth; her children, April Churchill of Gresham, OR, Mark Churchill of Sturgeon, MO, Timothy Churchill of Los Angeles, CA and Kathlyn (Randal) Wilson of Gresham, OR; and her grandchildren, Shelby and Shane Wilson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Laurel Klinger; and her brothers, Cliff and Dick Hutchinson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 10600 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at P.O. Box 348, Leavenworth, WA 98826. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
