Grant A. Mueller
1926 ~ 2015
Grant A. Mueller, 89, passed away on June 23, 2015. He was born in Seattle, WA, attended the University of Washington and graduated from the Law School in 1951. During that time he met and married his wife, Florence (Jean), started a family and became a member of the Washington Bar Association in 1952. He began his career by working for the Puget Sound Title Insurance Company which later became Transamerica Title Insurance Co. That job brought him and his family to Wenatchee in 1963, where he worked until 1967, when he entered into private practice as a lawyer in association with Charles W. Cone. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed to a position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Chelan County in Wenatchee, WA, where he specialized in child support and eventually retired in 1986. Growing up he developed a love for the outdoors, including hiking, camping, fishing, bicycling, skiing, and sailing. He was a member of the Mountaineers and climbed Mount Rainier. Later in life that relentless energy and drive proved helpful in his recovery from a stroke. He was able to regain his strength, walk with the help of a walker, and enjoy his favorite dessert, ice cream.
Service and giving back to the community was important to him. To most who knew him, he led a very frugal lifestyle. Nevertheless he and his wife donated to a number of charities during his lifetime. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Seattle and attended the Brethren Baptist Church in Wenatchee. He joined the Wenatchee Rotary Club in 1965 and was proud of his perfect attendance record for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Mueller; his sister, Martha Holm; and his three children, Cheryl Stovner, Craig Mueller, and Glen Mueller; and four grandchildren.
