James Charles "Jim" Ogden

James Charles "Jim" Ogden passed away on May 24, 2011, from COPD. He was born March 10, 1935, in Tacoma, WA, where he grew up with three sisters and three brothers. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1953, and then joined the Air Force, where he served from 1954 to 1958. After the Air Force, he attended the University of Washington from 1959 to 1964, receiving a degree in Forestry. Once he graduated from college, he began working for the Forest Service, where he worked until 1994, with most of his career spent working at Lake Wenatchee, Wenatchee and Entiat. Jim was a family oriented person and spent all of his free time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved working in the yard with his wife, Jan, and had a passion for the outdoors, whether it be skiing, water skiing, hiking, hunting or fishing.
Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jan; his children, Russell Ogden and Pam Willey; son-in-law, John Willey; grandchildren, Taylor and Garret Willey; sisters, Sandra Brown (Larry) and Barbara Studebaker (Bob); brothers, Gerald Ogden (Marguerite) and Ronald Ogden; sisters-in-law, Pat Masten and Virginia Jones; plus many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee, with Graveside Service to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. A Reception celebrating Jim's life will be held following the Services at Living Hope Community Church in Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Living Hope Community Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
