The Wenatchee City Council Thursday approved a grant-funded contract for generators intended to provide power at the city's water reservoirs and wastewater treatment plan.

Federal, state and local grants awarded to the city, totaling $1.08 million, will be used to acquire and install several emergency backup generators at "critical water facilities," according to a Wenatchee City Council agenda report.
